Thanks Elder Family!

Yesterday, during an uncharacteristically warm day at the Oregon coast, the Elders were spotted rocking their adoption shirts. Lookin' good guys :)

Meanwhile...we rocked our shirts at Hug Point

They're Here!

The shirts are finally in! We just picked them up last night and they look great. We will be sending them out to you ASAP. When you get your shirts email us a picture of you in them and we'll post it on our blog. sevans11@hotmail.com. Thanks again for your support and patience!

We just found out that the last date to order shirts will be August 25, so if you haven't gotten your order in and still want one there's not much time. We have ordered additional totes, however, that we already have on hand. Thanks!

On the adoption front- not really any news still. The agencies say you typically don't hear much from them from until they are going to show your profile to a potential birth family. Our case worker at the Utah agency is on vacation so we're waiting until she's back on Monday to hear from her whether or not they have everything they need from us. Patience continues to be the name of the game. It's not always easy to not have any control over the situation, but then we remember that God is in control of it. Thank you all again for your continued prayer and support.

Wow, I realize that I am not a very good blogger...but there also hasn't been too much to post. We finally got the rest of our documents sent off to the agency in Utah so we will soon be "good to go" with two agencies.  We're mostly just in the waiting stage now. We like this stage better than the paperwork stage, but it does require quite a bit of patience.

The first round of t-shirts and tote bags have been ordered. We will let you know as soon as they come in. Thank you for your patience and your continued prayer and support.

We have made contact with 2 of the agencies we sent our packets to. One in Utah and one in Florida. They have both asked us to send in an application in addition to everything else we had already sent. Today Andrew got the application for the Florida agency mailed off and once they receive it and approve us, we will officially be in the running (not sure if that's the proper terminology). We are so excited to get to this point!! We still have a to get a few copies of various documents together before we can send our application to Utah. Praying for patience and that we remember that God is in control and His timing is perfect.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported us so far through prayer, donations, and buying shirts and totes. We can't tell you how grateful we are for all of you!

T-Shirts and Totes!

We are selling t-shirts to help raise money for the adoption. I have to say, these are pretty sweet shirts, with an original design by the lovely and talented Sarah Thistlethwaite. Adult and youth sizes available with 4 colors to choose from. To order, or see how else you can help, please click on the "Fundraiser" tab above. We are asking that you pre-order and we will get the shirts to you once we have a few to order together. We are estimating around 2 weeks from time of order til we get the shirts or totes to you. We also have tote bags for sale with the same design. Thanks!

We got our adoption packets mailed out to two agencies today. Woohoo!!

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Well, we had planned to drive down to Southern Oregon this weekend to meet that girl and her family, but we got a call today letting us know that she has found somebody there in her town whom she has chosen to raise her baby. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. But, we prayed that she would make the decision that is best for her and her baby, so hopefully that it the case. I know the adoption process is full of ups and downs, and this probably won't be our last disappointment, but we pray for God to give us strength and protect our hearts. And mostly to trust in His will and timing.

On the bright side we have received our profile books and copies of our home study and hope to get several of them sent off to different agencies this weekend. Thank you for your continued prayer and encouragement. Forward march.

Some (Possibly) Very Exciting News

Andrew got a call this morning from the woman who did our home study, letting us know that there is a girl that she knows of here in Oregon who is looking for a family to place her baby with. She is due July 19th, and will be looking at our profile book this Friday. We are asking for prayer that she will be able to make the decision that is best for her and her baby. This is going to be a long week of waiting to hear back. Please pray pray pray about this situation. We appreciate you guys so much!

Where we're at in the process...

We had our home study on June 10th and we are currently waiting to receive a copy of the home study report. We are also waiting anxiously for our parent profile books to arrive. Once we have these things we will send them out to 9 different agencies in Georgia, Florida, Texas and Utah. If you would like to see what our profile book looks like you can check it out at  http://www.mixbook.com/photo-books/all/adoption-profile-book-5481928

Hi,
So as many of you (or hopefully all of you if you've made it this far) know that Andrew and I are in the process of adopting a baby. We officially started our adoption journey in April, although the decision to adopt was not a hard one for us to make since we have always planned on adopting at some point. We are so excited that God has led us to adopt at this time! Thank you for checking out our website and supporting us. We greatly appreciate every single prayer and encouraging word. Thank you!!

Blessings,
Andrew and Samantha
